An Analysis of the Integration of Faith- and Piety-Based (IMTAQ) Biology Learning to Strengthen Religious Moderation in Senior High Schools across Palembang City

Religious moderation is an important global issue in responding to the challenges of modern life, such as radicalism and intolerance. The integration of IMTAQ (Faith and Piety)–based biology learning is viewed as a strategic approach to strengthening religious moderation at the senior high school level. This study aims to analyze the integration of Islamic values in IMTAQ-based biology learning and its contribution to strengthening students’ religious moderation in public senior high schools across Palembang City. The study employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential exploratory design, involving 12 senior high schools and 270 students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, analyses of instructional materials, and surveys. The results indicate comprehensive implementation, good to excellent learning quality, and positive student responses. IMTAQ-based biology learning has proven effective in supporting the strengthening of religious moderation through a holistic, inclusive, and meaningful approach. Analisis Integrasi Pembelajaran Biologi Berbasis Iman dan Taqwa (IMTAQ) dalam Memperkuat Moderasi Beragama di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri se-Kota Palembang ABSTRAK: Moderasi beragama merupakan isu global penting dalam merespons tantangan kehidupan modern seperti radikalisme dan intoleransi. Integrasi pembelajaran biologi berbasis IMTAQ (Iman dan Taqwa) dipandang sebagai pendekatan strategis untuk memperkuat moderasi beragama di jenjang sekolah menengah atas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dalam pembelajaran biologi berbasis IMTAQ serta kontribusinya terhadap penguatan moderasi beragama peserta didik di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri se-Kota Palembang. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods dengan desain sequential exploratory, melibatkan 12 Sekolah Menengah Atas dan 270 peserta didik. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, analisis perangkat pembelajaran, dan survei. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan implementasi yang komprehensif, kualitas pembelajaran yang baik hingga sangat baik, serta respons positif peserta didik. Hepatoprotective Role Of Basil Leaf Extract (Ocimum basilicum) Against the Liver of Mice (Mus musculus) Given Tuak Drink

Basil (Ocimum basilicum) is a genus of Ocimum sp, one of the most abundant plants in Indonesia. Basil contains phenolic acids, hydrocycinate, and flavonoids that have the potential as antioxidants. The antioxidant effects of basil leaves can work effectively to protect the liver from free radicals that are generated during alcohol metabolism. This study was conducted to determine the hepatoprotective role of basil leaf extract (Ocimum basilicum) against the liver of mice (Mus musculus) given tuak drinks. This study used 25 adult male mice, aged 2 to 3 months and weighing 27 to 32 grams. There were 5 treatments and three repetitions carried out over 30 days. The extraction method is macerated, and the research design is in the form of a Complete Random Design with data analysis using One-Way Anova. The result of this study is that the administration of basil leaf extract (Ocimum basilicum) can prevent liver damage in mice (Mus musculus) caused by alcoholic beverages. Increasing the dose of basil leaf extract (Ocimum basilicum) turns out to increase the protective effect against liver damage in mice due to the administration of alcoholic beverages. The optimal dose for repairing liver damage with a dose of 900 mg/kgBB. Peran Hepatoprotektif Ekstrak Daun Kemangi (Ocimum basilicum) terhadap Hati Mencit (Mus musculus) yang diberi Minuman Tuak ABSTRAK: Kemangi (Ocimum basilicum) merupakan genus dari Ocimum sp, salah satu tumbuhan yang paling banyak dijumpai di Indonesia. Kemangi memiliki kandungan asam fenolik, hidrosisinamat, dan flavonoid yang memiliki potensi sebagai antioksidan. Efek antioksidan daun kemangi dapat bekerja efektif melindungi organ hati dari radikal bebas menangkap radikal bebas akibat metabolisme alcohol. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peran hepatoprotektif ekstrak daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicum) terhadap hati mencit (Mus musculus) yang diberi minuman tuak. Penelitian ini menggunakan 25 ekor mencit jantan dewasa umur 2 sampai 3 bulan dengan bobot 27 hingga 32 gram, terdapat 5 perlakuan dan tiga kali pengulangan yang dilakukan selama 30 hari. Metode ekstraksi secara maserasi, rancangan penelitian berupa Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan analisis data menggunakan One Way Anova. Hasil penelitian ini adalah pemberian ekstrak daun kemangi dapat mencegah kerusakan hati mencit yang disebabkan oleh minuman tuak. Peningkatan dosis ektrak daun kemangi ternyata dapat meningkatkan efek proteksi terhadap kerusakan hati mencit akibat pemberian minuman tuak. Untuk dosis optimum dalam memperbaiki kerusakan hati dengan dosis 900 Mg/KgBB

Cultivating Scientific Literacy and Self-confidence through an Islamic-Oriented 9E Learning Cycle in Biology Education

This study evaluates the Islam-oriented 9E Learning Cycle for enhancing scientific literacy and self-confidence in secondary school biology. Using a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control-group design, two Grade X classes participated: the experimental class learned via the 9E model infused with Islamic values, while the control class received discovery learning. Data were collected through PISA aligned literacy tests and questionnaires, validated self-confidence scales, and observation sheets, all demonstrating reliability (Cronbach’s α > .70). Independent t-tests and correlation analyses showed that the experimental group achieved higher posttest scores and larger normalized gains in scientific literacy (N-gain = 0.70, high) and self-confidence (N-gain = 0.69, moderate). Explained-variance estimates indicated contributions of 17.3% to literacy and 14.8% to self-confidence. Findings suggest that integrating spiritual ethical dimensions within a structured inquiry cycle strengthens conceptual mastery and nurtures affective development, positioning the Islam oriented 9E model as a holistic pedagogical strategy for curriculum reform and teacher professional development in faith-based contexts. Menumbuhkan Literasi Sains dan Rasa Percaya Diri melalui Siklus Pembelajaran 9E Berorientasi Islam dalam Pendidikan Biologi ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini mengevaluasi efektivitas Learning Cycle 9E berorientasi Islam dalam meningkatkan literasi sains dan kepercayaan diri pada pembelajaran biologi di sekolah menengah. Dengan desain kuasi-eksperimental pretest–postest control grup design, kelas eksperimen belajar melalui model 9E yang orientasi nilai-nilai Islam, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan discovery learning. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan kuesioner literasi sains framwork PISA 2025, skala kepercayaan diri tervalidasi, serta lembar observasi; seluruh instrumen menunjukkan reliabilitas baik (Cronbach’s α > .70). Uji t independen dan analisis korelasi menunjukkan kelas eksperimen meraih skor pascates lebih tinggi dan gain ternormalisasi lebih besar pada literasi sains (N-gain = 0,70; tinggi) dan kepercayaan diri (N-gain = 0,69; sedang). Estimasi variasi yang dijelaskan mengindikasikan kontribusi 17,3% terhadap literasi dan 14,8% terhadap kepercayaan diri. Temuan ini menyiratkan bahwa integrasi dimensi spiritual etis dalam siklus inkuiri terstruktur memperkuat penguasaan konseptual sekaligus menumbuhkan aspek afektif, sehingga model 9E berorientasi Islam layak diposisikan sebagai strategi pedagogis holistik bagi reformasi kurikulum dan pengembangan profesional guru di konteks pendidikan berbasis keagamaan.

Developing Articulate Storyline (AR)-Based Learning Media through the Sunda Mandala Game for Teaching the Human Digestive System to Kasepuhan Citorek Indigenous Students in Banten

Student learning achievement, especially in biology material, is still low. One of the causes is the lack of interesting and contextual teaching materials on local culture. This study aims to develop Articulate Storyline (AR) learning media with the Sunda Mandala game on the human digestive system for students of the Kasepuhan Citorek, Banten. The research method uses Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The sample taken in this study was 30 students of class XI MIPA 1 at Senior High School. Data collection techniques in this study used interview and questionnaire techniques. The results of the study showed that the feasibility value of interactive learning media based on an articulate storyline on the human digestive system material from material experts was 93.75% with a very feasible category, the results of media expert assessments were 85% with a feasible category, and the results of language expert assessments were 85% with a feasible category. The results of the trial data analysis showed that student responses were 83.9%, categorized as very good. Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Articulate Stroryline (AR) dengan game Sunda Mandala Pada Materi Sistem Pencernaan Manusia untuk Siswa Adat Kasepuhan Citorek, Banten ABSTRAK: Prestasi belajar siswa khususnya materi biologi masih rendah. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah kurangnya bahan ajar yang menarik dan kontekstual dengan budaya lokal.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran Articulate Stroryline (AR) dengan game Sunda Mandala materi sistem pencernaan manusia pada siswa/i adat kasepuhan Citorek, Banten. Metode penelitian menggunakan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas XI MIPA 1 di Sekolah Menegah Atas sebanyak 30 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai kelayakan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis articulate storyline pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia dari ahli materi sebesar 93,75% dengan kategori sangat layak, hasil penilaian ahli media sebesar 85% dengan kategori layak dan hasil penilaian ahli bahasa sebesar 85% dengan kategori layak. Hasil analisis data uji coba respon siswa didapatkan sebesar 83,9% dengan kategori sangat baik.

Fostering Student Creativity: Through Project-Based Learning E-Module with the ClassPoint.Io Gamification

Creativity is an essential 21st-century skill; however, observations and interviews revealed that students’ creativity in biology learning remains low. This study aimed to analyze the development procedures, feasibility, teachers’ and students’ responses, and the effectiveness of a project-based learning e-module integrated with ClassPoint.io gamification. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D model, involving two subject-matter experts, two media experts, one language expert, teachers, and 30 tenth-grade senior high school students. Validation results indicated very high feasibility (media 91%, content 91%, language 93%). Teachers’ responses reached 85%, while students’ responses were 88% (limited scale) and 91% (large scale). The t-test results showed a significant effect (0.000 < 0.05), indicating that the e-module is effective in enhancing students’ creativity. Membina Kreativitas Siswa : Melalui E-Modul Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek dengan Gamifikasi ClassPoin.Io ABSTRAK : Kreativitas merupakan keterampilan penting abad ke-21, namun observasi dan wawancara menunjukkan kreativitas peserta didik dalam pembelajaran biologi masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis prosedur pengembangan, kelayakan, respons pendidik dan peserta didik, serta keefektifan e-modul berbasis project-based learning dengan gamifikasi ClassPoint.io. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) model 4D dengan subjek 2 ahli materi, 2 ahli media, 1 ahli bahasa, pendidik, dan 30 peserta didik kelas X SMA. Hasil validasi menunjukkan kelayakan sangat tinggi (media 91%, materi 91%, bahasa 93%). Respons pendidik mencapai 85%, respons peserta didik 88% (skala terbatas) dan 91% (skala luas). Uji t-test menunjukkan hasil signifikan (0,000 < 0,05), sehingga e-modul dinyatakan efektif meningkatkan kreativitas peserta didik.

Integrating Coastal Lampung’s Bedana Dance into an Interactive Digital Module to Enhance Students’ Biological Literacy

Coastal Lampung has a high level of cultural diversity, one example of which is the Bedana dance. This study aims to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of an interactive digital module integrating the local wisdom of the Coastal Lampung Bedana dance in improving students’ biological literacy. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method with Grade XI science students of a senior high school in Gedongtataan as the research subjects. The research data consisted of qualitative and quantitative data obtained through questionnaires, interviews, and tests. The validation results indicated that the interactive digital module was highly feasible for learning, with material feasibility of 93%, language 78%, media 93%, cultural aspects 89%, and practitioner assessment 100%. Limited trials obtained a positive response of 91%. The implementation test showed an N-Gain score of 0.72, categorized as high. The effectiveness test yielded a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.008, indicating a significant effect on students’ biological literacy. Modul Digital Interaktif Berbasis Kearifan Lokal Tari Bedana dalam Meningkatkan Literasi Biologi Peserta Didik ABSTRAK: Lampung Pesisir memiliki keanekaragaman budaya yang tinggi, salah satunya adalah tari Bedana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan dan efektifitas modul digital interaktif bermuatan kearifan lokal tari Bedana Lampung Pesisir terhadap literasi biologi peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan subjek siswa kelas XI IPA Sekolah Menengah Atas di Gedongtataan. Data penelitian berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang diperoleh melalui angket, wawancara, dan tes. Hasil validasi menunjukkan modul digital interaktif sangat layak digunakan dengan persentase kelayakan materi 93%, bahasa 78%, media 93%, budaya 89%, dan praktisi 100%. Uji coba terbatas memperoleh respons 91%. Hasil uji penggunaan menunjukkan nilai N-Gain literasi biologi sebesar 0,72 (kategori tinggi). Uji efektivitas memperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,008, yang menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap literasi biologi peserta didik.

Development of Komodo Behavior E-Magazine Media (<i>Varanus komodoensis</i>) to Improve Understanding of Biological Concepts

This study aims to develop learning media in the form of an interactive e-magazine about the behavior of Komodo dragons (Varanus komodoensis) and evaluate its effectiveness in improving students' understanding of biological concepts and learning motivation. Media development was carried out using the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The results of the needs analysis showed that students needed interesting and easily accessible digital media to understand animal behavior material. Validation by experts showed that the e-magazine media was very feasible to use, with a feasibility score of 93 from media experts and 95 from material experts. The implementation of media in learning resulted in a significant increase in conceptual understanding, with an N-Gain value of 0.7. The responses of teachers and students to the media were also very positive, with a satisfaction level reaching 98%. These findings indicate that e-magazines can be an effective innovative media in biology learning. Pengembangan Media E-Magazine Perilaku Komodo (Varanus komodoensis) Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Biologi ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa e-magazine interaktif tentang perilaku komodo (Varanus komodoensis) serta mengevaluasi efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep biologi dan motivasi belajar siswa. Pengembangan media dilakukan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Hasil analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa siswa memerlukan media digital yang menarik dan mudah diakses untuk memahami materi perilaku hewan. Validasi oleh ahli menunjukkan bahwa media e-magazine sangat layak digunakan, dengan skor kelayakan sebesar 93 dari ahli media dan 95 dari ahli materi. Implementasi media dalam pembelajaran menghasilkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman konsep, dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,7. Respons guru dan siswa terhadap media juga sangat positif, dengan tingkat kepuasan mencapai 98%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa e-magazine dapat menjadi media inovatif yang efektif dalam pembelajaran biologi.

Spirituality in ethical behavior towards the environment: A bibliometric analysis

This study aims to analyze research trends related to spirituality and ethical behavior towards the environment through a bibliometric approach. Using data from 97 documents published between 1992 and 2024, this study answers eight research questions, including temporal distribution, dominant subject areas, most cited documents, most relevant sources, country collaboration patterns, main supporting institutions, keyword trends, and thematic patterns. The results show fluctuating publication growth, peaking in 2022. Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences are the most dominant fields, while the journal Worldviews: Environment, Culture, Religion is the main source. These findings provide strategic insights for the development of multidisciplinary research, global collaboration, and spirituality-based policies in supporting environmental sustainability. Spiritualitas dalam perilaku etis terhadap lingkungan: Analisis bibliometrik ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tren penelitian terkait spiritualitas dan perilaku etis terhadap lingkungan melalui pendekatan bibliometrik. Dengan menggunakan data dari 97 dokumen yang diterbitkan antara tahun 1992 dan 2024, penelitian ini menjawab delapan pertanyaan penelitian, meliputi distribusi temporal, bidang subjek dominan, dokumen yang paling banyak dikutip, sumber yang paling relevan, pola kolaborasi negara, lembaga pendukung utama, tren kata kunci, dan pola tematik. Hasilnya menunjukkan pertumbuhan publikasi yang fluktuatif, mencapai puncaknya pada tahun 2022. Bidang yang paling dominan adalah Seni dan Humaniora serta Ilmu Sosial, sedangkan jurnal Worldviews: Environment, Culture, Religion menjadi sumber utama.. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan strategis untuk pengembangan penelitian multidisiplin, kolaborasi global, dan kebijakan berbasis spiritualitas dalam mendukung keberlanjutan lingkungan.

An Implementation of Problem-Based Learning Model through Flipped Classroom Sevima Edlink Application to Improve Students' Critical Thinking Skills

This study aims to apply the application through Flipped Classroom learning media assisted by Sevima Edlink application in improving students' critical thinking skills on excretory system material in class XI Senior High School. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. Data analysis showed a significant difference in improving critical thinking skills. The experimental group got an average score of 0.60 (Medium) while the control group got an average score of 0.24 (Low), which was shown by the results of the N-Gain and t-test statistical tests. Thus, the application of PBL (Problem Based Learning) model through Flipped Classroom assisted by Sevima Edlink can be an effective alternative in improving students' critical thinking skills, especially in learning biology. Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Pbl (Problem Based Learning) Melalui Flipped Classroom Berbantuan Sevima Edlink Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan penerapan melalui media pembelajaran Flipped Classroom berbantuan aplikasi Sevima Edlink dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi sistem ekskresi di kelas XI SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-experimental menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Analisis data menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan dalam peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis. kelompok eksperimen mendapat rata-rata nilai 0.60 (Sedang) sedangkan kelompok kontrol mendapat rata rata nilai 0.24 (Rendah), yang ditunjukkan oleh hasil uji statistik N-Gain dan t-test. Dengan demikian, penerapan model PBL (Problem Based Learning) melalui Flipped Classroom berbantuan Sevima Edlink dapat menjadi alternatif yang efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa, khususnya dalam pembelajaran biologi.

Sets-Based Vee Diagram Learning And Its Effect On Students' Critical Thinking And Self-Regulation: A Case Study In Indonesian High School

This study aims to determine the effect of the SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) learning model based on Vee diagrams on the critical thinking skills and self-regulation of students. The type of research used is quantitative with the quasi-experimental method. Data collection techniques used tests, non-tests, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using the normality test, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing using the MANOVA test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the MANOVA test, a significant level of 0.000 < α = 0.05 was obtained. So that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) learning model based on the Vee diagram on critical thinking ability and self-regulation of students. Pembelajaran SETS berdasarkan diagram Vee dan dampaknya terhadap pemikiran kritis dan pengaturan diri siswa: studi kasus dalam kurikulum biologi SMA di Indonesia ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) berdasarkan diagram Vee terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pengaturan diri siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi-eksperimental. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, non-tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji MANOVA. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji MANOVA, diperoleh tingkat signifikan 0,000 < α = 0,05. Sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari model pembelajaran SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) berdasarkan diagram Vee pada kemampuan berpikir kritis dan regulasi diri.
