Abstract
Synonymical Note on Scopaeus (Microscopaeus) pilicornis BAUDI, 1869 (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae: Paederinae), a Mistaken East Mediterranean SpeciesScopaeus (Microscopaeus) pilicornis BAUDI, 1869, was little considered in the literatur since its description. The Eastern Mediterranian species is redescribed with regard of the female genitalsegments and the spermatheca. Scopaeus (Microscopaeus) microphthalmus EPPELSHEIM, 1888, is placed in synonymy of S. pilicornis. Lectotypes are designated for S. pilicornis and S. microphthalmus. The geographical distribution of S. pilicornis is given.
