Abstract

The systematic composition of the Santonian foraminifera complexes from four sections of the Northern outskirts of Donbas is analyzed. For the first time, two foraminifera zones have been established in the Santonian sediments in the region under investigation: the Gavelinella infrasantonica of the Lower Santonian and the Gavelinella stelligera of the Upper Santonian. The Gavelinella infrasantonica zone is divided into subzones: the lower one is Stensioeina exculpta and the upper one is Eponides concinnus plana. A correlation was made between the foraminifer’s and macrofaunistic zones of the Northern outskirts of Donbas. The distribution of foraminifera zones was established in local subsuites. The comparison of the foraminifera of these zones with species was carried out. The International stratigraphic scale of 2008 and their correlation with the zones of adjacent territories.
