Abstract

AbstractThe Effect Of Two Derivatives Of Kaurenoic Acid Isolated From Montanoa Frutescens Upon The Spontaneous Activity Of Estrogen-Dominated Rat and Guinea Pig Uteri Was Assessed. The Methyl Ester Of 15 A-Hydroxy-Dihydro Kaurenoic Acid Induced A Concentration-Related Decrease Of Spontaneous Activity Of Estrogen-Dominated Rat Uterus (Id 50 = 49.3 μ). This Effect Was Not Modified By The Presence Of Propranolol. The Methyl Ester Of 15-Keto-Dihydro Kaurenoic Acid Induced A Concentration-Dependent Increase Of Spontaneous Activity Of Estrogen-Dominated Rat Uterus (Ed 50 = 83.5 μm). This Increase Was Not Altered By The Presence Of Atropine Or Indomethacin. Both Compounds Induced An Increase Of Spontaneous Activity Of Estrogen-Dominated Guinea Pig Uterus In A Concentration-Related Manner. The Ed 50 Value For 15 α-Hydroxy Derivative Was 48.9 μm, Whereas The Ed 50 Value For 15 Keto Derivative Was 26.3 Yum, I.E. The Latter Was 1.16 Times More Potent Than The Former.
