Abstract
The ZnO nanotructures - rods, belts and rods mixed with walls are fabricated by chemical vapor deposition with catalysts. The a-plane sapphire was coated with gold. Then the sapphire and graphite powder mixed with ZnO powder were putted in the middle of quartz tube. They were heated in furnace. At the same time, argon and oxygen flowed into quartz tube. The different ZnO nanostructures were fabricated by controlling the rate of ZnO deposition. The reactions of graphite and ZnO were observed by residual gas analyzer. And the golden balls on sapphire were scanned by atomic force microscopy. The morphologies of the samples were observed by scanning electron microscopy. The crystal orientation was detected by x-ray diffraction. And the photoluminescence of ZnO nanostuructres at room temperature were observed.
