Abstract

The oxidative dissolution of zirconium by low-temperature chlorination in N,N-dimethylformamide-chlorine-iron(III) chloride compositions has been studied. Optimum process parameters at low chlorine concentrations have been determined. The orders of reaction in iron and chlorine have been determined. The activation energy of the process has been calculated.
