Abstract

A facile and a one-pot procedure for the synthesis of novel hydrazinyl thiazoles by the cyclo condensation reaction between substituted phenacyl bromides, aromatic aldehydes, and semicarbazides using Yttrium(III) oxide as reusable catalyst under acetic acid as a solvent medium is described. The chromatography-free methodology has several benefits such as being facile, atom economic, higher functional group tolerance and provides excellent yield in shorter reaction time. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and HRMS (ESI) analysis.
