Abstract

Yellow nail syndrome is a rare disease of unclear etiology characterized by lesions of the lung parenchyma and nail apparatus. The etiopathogenesis of the disease remains unclear. Also unclear remain epidemiologic data on the disease due to its low incidence. Despite this, yellow nail syndrome represents a major interdisciplinary challenge both in terms of diagnosis and treatment of this group of patients. This article presents a series of two clinical cases of diagnosed yellow nail syndrome, highlights the currently known data on the etiopathogenesis and clinical picture of the disease, and discusses the issues of diagnosis and treatment.
