Abstract

Frequency bisection by a coupling of two Y-branch switches is demonstrated. One Y-branch switch serves as a trigger controlling the in-plane field at the second Y-branch switch, which is in turn feedback coupled into a bistable regime. At the trigger Y-branch switch spike-like pulses are amplified or attenuated. Hence, by connecting the outputs of the bistable Y-branch to the in-plane field of the trigger Y-branch an alternate set and reset sequence is demonstrated and exploited for a digital frequency bisection.
