Abstract
This article briefly discusses questions about the life and creative path of Osmonaala Sydyk uulu and Belek Soltonoev, the first Kyrgyz historians of the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries. Information is also given about the works of Osmonaaly Sydyk uulu, where the Kyrgyz sanzhyra was for the first time as a written source. The epoch and education received by the historians under consideration in accordance with the possibilities of their time are described. Their contribution to the study of history, folklore, culture, traditions and tribal relations of the Kyrgyz people is considered. They also studied their contribution to the process of enlightening the Kyrgyz of that time.
