Abstract

X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) of CuInSe2 and In-rich phases like Cu2In4Se7, CuIn3Se5 and CuIn5Se5 is investigated. Absorption at the K edges of Cu and Se and the L1 edge of In has been measured using synchrotron radiation. CuInSe2 spectra are interpreted in terms of the local densities of states in the conduction band and within the real-space multiple-scattering approach. Comparison of spectra for other phases shows changes in p-like densities of states with increasing In content.
