Abstract

Abstract The three beam cases {111, 1̅11; 200} (Case I) and {1̅1̅1, III; 220} (Case II) in germanium were examined with CuKα1 radiation from a bent quartz monochromator crystal. For the intensity relation I0/(IL + IM), excellent agreement with previous measurements (Uebach) resulted for Case I; small deviations from a calculated value could be explained by theoretical arguments, considering the crystal as slightly imperfect. In Case II, which reacted more sensitively upon lattice defects, these deviations were much larger and in an unexpected direction. A first attempt of a "Three Beam Lang Topography" is reported.
