Abstract

Polyethylene films were modified by liquid-phase graft copolymerization of vinylidene chloride. The structure of graft films elongated before and after grafting was examined by X-ray (large and small angle) directly during isometric annealing and after cooling in the isometric state. It was established that polyvinylidene chloride forms graft structures of colloidal dimensions which stabilize the combined oriented polyethylene macromolecules.
