Abstract

This article, is a personal reflection on the relationship between pedagogy, and teacher training in Colombia, Taking into account the interest of the national government to place as a banner of evolution and social transformation to education, it is still timely to investigate on the theoretical supports of this change.In this same sense, it seeks to clarify the meaning of pedagogy in the context of epistemology. In the first place and following a historical route, it is problematized about the scientific status of pedagogy. Next, we reflect on the scope of this debate in the country, and finally, we propose the path to be followed by Colombian teachers in the context of the implementation of the new educational policies proposed by the Ministry of National Education.Keywords: pedagogy, epistemology, teacher training, educational quality
