Abstract

This article presents the mobilisation process, the composition of the Polish troops and the course of the expedition conducted in September and October 1509 to the Moldavian Principality, ruled by Bogdan III Orbul. As a result of the military action led by Hetman Mikolaj Kamieniecki, the territories of the disputed Pokucie were regained, and a large part of north-western Moldavia was plundered by Polish raiding parties. The culmination of these events was the battle of the Dniester crossing, fought at Chocim on 4 October 1509.
