Abstract

In 1905, Albert Einstein published a 3-page article that revolutionized physics and our world. Einstein's special (1905) and general (1916) theory of relativity came entirely from Einstein's creative imagination based on his mathematical calculations at his home without previous experiments to rest on. 1 Isaacson W. Einstein. His Life and Universe. Simon and Shuster, New York, NY2007 Google Scholar Einstein wrote at the conclusion of what would become his prodigious article: “Perhaps it will prove possible to test this theory …,” suggesting to the experimental physicists of his or future time to confirm his predictions. As we know, his brilliant pure theoretical discoveries would be confirmed many times during his lifetime and thereafter. In reality, Einstein was a true father of a new emerging discipline at the time, namely theoretical physics.
