Abstract

AT THE meeting of the Council of the World's Poultry Science Association, held in Sydney on 15th August, 1962, the following resolution proposed by Dr. H. R. Bird and duly seconded was approved: “That the Council of the Association consider the appointment of a study committee on the nutrient requirements of poultry.”It was agreed that the matter should be left to Dr. Bird and the Officers of the Council to arrange. Subsequently the following Committee was appointed: Dr. H. R. Bird (U.S.A.) Chairman, Dr. J. Baelum (Denmark), Dr. C. Colet (France), Dr. D. R. Clandinin (Canada), Dr. N. J. Daghir (Lebanon), Professor A. M. Gericke (South Africa), Dr. S. K. Kon** (England), Dr. M. W. McDonald (Australia), Professor Dr. A. Mehner (West Germany), Dr. H. Morimoto (Japan), Dr. M. A. Raafat (Egypt),** Dr. W. Bolton (Scotland), replaced Dr. Kon on the latter's retirement.The Committee obtained tables of nutrient .
