Abstract

The workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation for Capacity Building Activities was organised by the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) for the World Health Organisation Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (WHO/TDR) during 3 – 5 April 2019 in Barcelona, Spain. The workshop included 18 hours of face-to-face sessions over three days. The learning objectives were for participants, upon completion of the workshop, to be able to: Use ME Use ME And Generate and implement M&E plans for capacity building activities. Each of the participants was asked to select, gather, and submit data for their own monitoring and evaluation project prior to the start of the workshop. The methodology for the workshop combined interactive presentations of core concepts with small group hands-on exercises and working sessions in which participants applied the tools and concepts discussed to their own project. During these working sessions, trainers were available to consult on and discuss projects.
