Abstract

Six years ago NAPO first resolved to seek paternity leave provision, but this received little active attention. The 1984 AGM resolution suggests it is at last being taken seriously. The author discusses how fatherhood is linked to family life, the work place and wider society, and argues that a scheme is valuable and overdue.
