Abstract

Thoracic and complex endovascular aortic repair (TCEVAR) has been increasingly adopted in the treatment of thoracic and thoracoabdominal aorta aneurysms, offering a less-invasive approach for patients with the appropriate anatomy. Women usually present with a smaller aortic diameter. However, they also usually have greater aneurysm growth rates. How sex can affect the postoperative and short-term outcomes after TCEVAR has not been well reported. The aim of this study was to assess the outcomes for female and male patients undergoing TCEVAR for the treatment of thoracic and thoracoabdominal aneurysms in a Medicare-linked database.
