Abstract

The Buck/Boost Regulator has been implemented to maintain the power factor efficiently for battery charging electric vehicles has been described. The converter operate in buck or boost modes with respect to the voltage from the rectifier at load. An effective frequency with shaping of current control without disturbing power factor near to unity has been proposed. The paper also focuses on the harmonic compensation from the grid as per the standards. The aim is to maintain the power factor with the harmonic distortion in the control circuit with buck/boost mechanism with flexible duty cycle scheme. Control should not be complex even with better performance which is been well suited for open as well as feedback schemes of Matlab Simulink platform.
