Abstract
This research examines Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) configurations in shipboard environments for the use of augmented reality devices. The goal of this research is to discover the required network specifications and configurations of equipment within a MANET needed to operate augmented reality devices capable of promoting communication during shipboard operations between hospital corpsmen and physicians engaged in emergency care. The work examines in different phases. Our research aimed to determine whether Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) MANET radios would be capable of enabling communications between medical teams faced with emergencies in shipboard or ship-to-ship environments via augmented reality devices such as Microsoft HoloLens.
