Abstract

Abstract The need for an alternate source of energy is increasing with industrialization and development of technologies all over the world. Developed countries are focusing on renewable energies and waste to energy method to cope with an increase in demand. One of the promising sectors for energy requirement is syn gas production from gasification. Gasification is one of the oldest processes to use biomass for the energy production has merits and demerits to it. This paper focuses on the corrosion behavior of the gasifier components under various simulated/Accelerated/gasifier power plants and recent steps taken in minimizing the same.
