Abstract

Abstract This project work explains the planning designing and analyzing of AN AQUEDUCT using Reinforced concrete. The objective of this design project is understanding the behaviour of structure and gain confidence in designing structures making use of the IS codal provisions. The Aqueduct carries water from Uyyakondan Channel for 0.16 km and under this bridge drain water from Araiyar and Koraiyar drain flows in Trichy district. It is a reinforced concrete bridge structure mainly to avoid flood discharge during rainy season in Puthur of Trichy district. The water retaining structural elements aqueduct walls, slab are designed by working stress method using M25 concrete and Fe 415 steel and the pier head, pier, footing are made by limit state method using M25 concrete and Fe 415 HYSD bars satisfying all codal provisions of IS456 – 2000 and SP16. The design calculations are done by MS-EXCEL Software and Structural drawings were prepared by AUTOCAD.
