Abstract

Every day social media provide an enormous amounts of information and knowledge through language and multimodal texts. The most common topics in Internet communication are political events, their description and comments on them. Thus, by Internet texts knowledge is created and transferred. Depending on the country and political culture, this constructed knowledge of a particular political event may cover different areas. In order to demonstrate similarities and di erences in the constituting of knowledge, this article focuses on the semantic construction of tweets, that have been published by the German and Polish political stakeholders on President Donald Trump’s election win and his assumption of office.
