Abstract
Abstract Plots were established in a sandy loam site which was the second year out of pasture. B size seed was planted at 12 inch spacings in a 50 ft row. Plots were arranged in a randomized complete block design and replicated 6 times. All insecticides, except Thimet layby, were applied with the seed in the open furrow. Both seed and insecticide were covered with 4 to 6 inches of loose, dry soil. Three applications of foliar insecticides plus fungicide were applied during the growing season. Plots were hand dug and readings taken on all tubers. Percent damage was calculated within each replicate, the means were transformed using ARCSINE and compared.
