Abstract

The addition of conducting particles in the ceramic matrix material increases the overall electrical conductivity of the composite. Current work is an approach to machine multi walled carbon nanotubes filled alumina composites by wire electrical discharge machining process. The variation of material removal rate and surface roughness are identified for varying conditions of pulse on time. An increasing material removal phenomenon is observed with increase in pulse on time. The surface roughness is found to decrease under similar conditions. The effect of wire speed is also thoroughly analyzed.
