Abstract

There is evidence from the International Panel of Climate Change that the UK will experience a mean rise in ambient air temperature over the coming years. Such a rise in temperature will change the requirements for heating and cooling of domestic buildings. This scoping paper explores this issue with respect to the housing sector in the Yorkshire Humber Region of the UK and comes to the conclusion that the regions domestic sector poses major problems with respect to the stated carbon savings required by the UK Government.
