Abstract

The wavelength of a dye laser with a wide tuning range (BBQ, 52 nm) is converted by a stimulated Raman effect. By using hydrogen and methane as Raman media, laser emission is continuously tuned from 362 nm to 593 nm (231 nm or 10760 cm -1) with conversion efficiencies of 0.3–7%.
