Abstract

A wideband, high gain, low cross-polarization circular patch antenna with linear polarization and monopole-like radiation pattern is proposed for wireless communication systems. The impedance bandwidth $(\vert{\rm S}_{11}\vert of 36.5% (4.25–6.15 GHz) is achieved at the central frequency of 5.20 GHz. The simulated and measured peak gains are 9.7 and 9.1 dBi, respectively. A good agreement is achieved between the simulated and measured results.
