Abstract
Most adaptive array systems proposed for the rejection of multipath fading and additive interference in indoor wireless communications have their performance significantly deteriorated when the bandwidth of the received signal exceeds a few percent of the center frequency. The article proposes a new approach to minimize the effect of wideband signal on array performance. The array structure is based on a constant power algorithm (CPA) used in conjunction with a localization technique. Simulation results show that this technique achieved satisfactory behaviour for bandwidth up to 10 percent of the center frequency of the operating system. The approach is also useful for mobile radio applications.
