Abstract

For supporting communication links with increased date rate between the base station and the user, millimeter-wave multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) will be adopted globally, the 24–29- and 37–43-GHz bands are now approved worldwide as the standard 5G communication bands, and several 5G systems have been presented in the 28- and 39-GHz bands [item 1) in the Appendix]. The key challenge now is how to reduce the entire MIMO systems’ sizes and weights, particularly the costs.
