Abstract

In the present digital age, media impact each segment of human life. People of new generation are using media to produce social awareness and to create hopeful variations in society. This study is helpful for each level of education experts, mass media advocates, human rights groups and other people to appreciate the elevation of the media as a means to attain their definite goals to confirm parity in the matter of child. In this study, researchers have focused on the role of mass media in generating awareness and inspiring parents against child labour. For this determination, data have been composed of 100 parents of child labourers of Cumilla District. Parent's attitude to education, health and environmental issues has also been assessed. Information about media usages has been obtained. As conveyed, television has appeared to be the most widespread media being viewed by parents. Few child labourer’ parents became conscious of child labour through mass media. Yet, parents of most of the working children suppose that media has partial role play in generating consciousness against child labour.
