Abstract

An enlargement method of reconstruction angle by time-sharing tilted illumination in a three-dimensional (3D) display system based on wavefront modulation is presented. In a recording system, an array of phase-shifting interferometer is used for recording the wavefront data from 3D object in wide angle. In a reconstruction system, single display device such as spatial light modulator is illuminated with tilted plane waves for wide angle reconstruction. Tilted illumination causes the spatial shift of reconstructed 3D object according to the illumination angle. We propose a method to reduce the spatial shift by changing the reconstruction position around display plane. Experimental and numerical results are presented.
