Abstract

The literature on labour turnover is numerous. Overall, the literature on turnover demonstrates four main features. Most of the studies have been conducted at the individual unit of analysis what only measure respondents’ “intention to quit” rather actual turnover. Very few studies have been focused on organisational unit of analysis. Organisational unit of analysis deals with organisational predictors and measures actual turnover rates. Most of the studies have been conducted in western countries’ contexts. While there is an impact of contextual factors on turnover, only a handful studies on developing countries contexts. The majority of the studies have applied quantitative methods as individual unit of analysis suits with quantitative methods rather than qualitative methods.
