Abstract

On December 13, 2021, WHO and St Jude Children's Research Hospital jointly announced the launch of a new initiative to increase the supply of paediatric cancer medicines to low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs). The Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines will receive US$200 million in funding from St Jude Children's Research Hospital over the next 6 years. The platform aims to provide safe and effective cancer medication to approximately 120 000 children worldwide in 2022–27, with the expectation of a subsequent scale-up.
