Abstract
Based on the use of multiblock computational technologies, a numerical investigation of whirlwind-like heat transfer in a turbulent flow past dimple reliefs on a plane wall, including narrow channels, is carried out. The algorithm and Menter's model of transfer of shear stresses are tested in a comparative analysis of predicted and experimental data for isolated dimples. The thermal efficiencies of a spherical dimple and of a two-dimensional notch on a plane wall are compared by varying their depths.
