Abstract
Recently many peasants have written complaining of the unhealthy trends in the supply and marketing of chemical fertilizers. They ask why they cannot get the chemical fertilizers supplied to the peasants according to the state plan, why the state policy of selling chemical fertilizers to peasants as encouragement and reward for grain sales cannot be implemented, and yet chemical fertilizers sold at high prices on the market are abundant They strongly demand that the departments concerned take measures to check the unhealthy tendencies in the distribution and sale of chemical fertilizers and restore order in the market to ease the high prices and their difficulty in getting chemical fertilizers. To understand the problem, we interviewed the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Chemical Engineering, and some prefectural, county, and grass-roots units in Sichuan, Guangdong, and other provinces and investigated the production, supply, and sale of the product.
