Abstract
This paper presents a technique to be used the in solution-focused, brief therapy. The authors will first discuss a technique for simplifying responses to the miracle question, which can help clients focus on the present time, where solutions already exist. The paper will next focus on the author's use of de Shazer and Berg's (1993) scaling questions with clients after they have experienced a portion of their miracle. The authors help clients scale all points of their miracle. Scaling questions help clients realize additional qualities of their miracles and continue the new behaviors which initiated change. A case example will be used as an illustration.
