Abstract
This chapter discusses some important Chinese characters meaning value. It outlines the value system of two major schools in ancient China. The chapter turns to the question of how much bandwidth on values at the beginning of the second decade of the 21st century in the People's Republic of China (PRC) is detectable. The Communist Party of China (CCP) leads the people in the development of advanced socialist culture, and build socialist spiritual civilization in governing the country that joins the role of the law with the role of morality. The aim is to increase the ideological and moral level as well as the scientific and cultural level of the whole nation, so that the reform and socialist modernization granted a solid ideological foundation with strong spiritual driving force and a strong intellectual support.
