Abstract
The Wenner‐Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research is a private operating foundation whose mission is to support significant and innovative research in all areas of anthropology, to foster the international anthropological community, and to provide leadership in the field. It was established in 1941 and today provides between $5 million and $6 million annually in support of the discipline internationally through varied grant, fellowship, networking, conference, and symposia programs. It founded and continues to publish the international journal Current Anthropology , and its online magazine, SAPIENS , brings anthropological research to the public worldwide.
