Abstract

The focus of the second issue of the 15th year of <italic xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">IEEE Solid-State Circuits Magazine</i> is on highlighting some of the many ICs dedicated to biomedical applications. Biomedical ICs are finding their way into a plethora of healthcare applications. They are expected to offer effective ways of diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases. Furthermore, in addition to reducing the costs and sizes of medical devices, the field of biomedical ICs is enabling new options for surgical procedures, life-saving medical implants, and vital sign monitoring, to name just a few from an array of seemingly limitless opportunities.
