Abstract
Chemical educators play a crucial role in ACS: as President of ACS, I call on educators to share their expertise in chemical education and their insight on how chemical scientists should and could be communicating with the general public. I urge everyone in the chemical sciences to play a pivotal role in the International Year of Chemistry 2011. The time to engage is now.
