Abstract

EXCERPT

I am delighted to welcome you to the inaugural issue of Research in Gerontological Nursing (RGN). This quarterly journal aims to disseminate peer-reviewed, cuttingedge, interdisciplinary gerontological research to educators, clinicians, researchers, policy makers, and interested others who are dedicated to improving the well-being of older adults in all health care and community-based settings through research. We have assembled a superb Editorial Board and panel of reviewers whose research interests span the spectrum of gerontological concerns from aging throughout the life span and health promotion to palliative care and end-of-life issues, as well as broad-based methodological and theoretical expertise. The Editorial Board includes noted gerontological nurse researchers from leading academic institutions throughout the nation, as well as colleagues in social work, pharmacy, and recreational therapy.
