Abstract

This article is discussing the idea of providing an easy-to-access platform for reconnaissance and vulnerability scanning tools that are commonly available in the Linux environment. This idea introduces a web-based platform that is easily accessible and beginner-friendly for average internet users. The first part of this article begins with a deep research on topics such as common web vulnerabilities and Linux user-friendliness in order to gain more insight understanding and knowledge regarding the problem. Based on the findings of the research, the requirements of the project are slowly created and enhanced. The prototype development of the project starts with the requirements for the system and the technologies that will be implemented for the solution to finalize. In conclusion the web-based reconnaissance and vulnerability scanner have been delivered as Recon Hub. The Recon Hub platform may not be sophisticated and advanced in terms of the number of tools. Nevertheless, the Recon Hub is developed with a different set of approaches and scope, mainly on presenting the web security tools in a beginner-friendly manner.
