Abstract

This paper investigates the wear properties of Natural Fibre reinforced polymer composites. Natural fibre polymer composites are fabricated using banana, coconut sheath and jute fibres as reinforcements in epoxy resin. The composites are fabricated by hand lay-up method. The wear test of these specimens is performed on a pin on disc tribometer. The effect of load and speed on the wear of these materials is identified. The design of experiments is based on Taguchi’s orthogonal array. ANOVA analysis is used to identify the effect of these factors on the wear of the composites.
