Abstract

The behaviour of wear in bearing materials are studied and investigated under sintered dry sliding condition, using a dedicated dry bearing machine. The material specimen tested are Ferrous based alloys with sintering process additives are mixed and blended. The wear performance investigated against process parameter, manufacturing parameters etc. At different running conditions, tribo characteristics are investigated and their influence on parameters. Additive concentration effects are discussed in MoS2 and Graphite permeated bearings. Specific wear rate comparison of bearings through graph is shown and discussed. Lastly, scanning electron microscope micrographs are shown to examine the mechanism of tribological process.
