Abstract

Body area communication is based on active quasi-electrostatic field which is modulated and coupled to human body to generate weak current on it. The receiver circuits detect the weak current signal to extract the information sent by the transmitter. In the paper, a current-voltage conversion circuit, a band pass filter, a precise full wave rectification circuit, and a modified UART transceiver module based on FPGA are designed and implemented for the detection and reception of the weak current signal. Results show that, these circuits can detect the weak current signal and implement the communication. These circuits can be used as analog front end in receiver unit of body area communication.
