Abstract

The paper presented the study of relation between vari-ous types of parenting & communication techniques for achieving good results in teaching, upbringing children and maintaining mental health; for this study 400 middle school children (200 boys and 200 girls) were selected from various secondary schools of Tehran. The children have been tested for the mental health status (by Gold-berg) and the parents being questioned about their child-rearing practices. An average half-year grading achieved in training has been taken for another criterion. The out-comes obtained up to the Tukey's tests have shown that upbringing and training children, as well as their normal mental development may be successful only once reso-luteness and confidence have been instilled in a child, never by oppression and coercion.
