Abstract
Peculiarities of the assessment process of students’ educational achievements. Types of evaluation, evaluation criteria of junior grade students, teaching competencies. The educational system meets the needs of the individual, adapts to the changes taking place in the society, educates the individual in a new way, evaluates the results of the students’ achievements in a new way, formative assessment and summative assessment. Ways of evaluating achievements, learning skills and components, methods of working with evaluation criteria, student’s self-evaluation skills, evaluation criteria with the “Reader’s Theater” exercise by the teacher together with students, and how the student was able to monitor his own achievements in the tale “Two Brothers” were described.
